Hi there! I’m Isaac (he/his)

I come from a varied family background, born to a mother who is a first-generation Filipino immigrant and a father descended from the first Europeans to arrive in the United States. Additionally, I grew up in a conservative part of Montana, and while I appreciated many sincere friendships within this community, I also grappled with the complexities of my identity amid a lack of nuanced discussions on race, culture, and social forces.

Despite these challenges, I cultivated a deep passion for cultural understanding and humility, embracing my heritage while navigating through confusion and pain. My journey led me to Portland, OR, where I found a community that allowed me to further connect with LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals.

In this journey, I also encountered personal struggles with trauma and insomnia. Like many facing insomnia, I found it challenging to find non-medication-based treatment options. These experiences fueled my determination to expand my clinical skills in treating trauma and insomnia, ensuring I can provide the best care for my clients today.

My credentials and education

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (C7567). I earned my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University. As a counselor, I bring diverse experience working in various counseling and health settings including college counseling, community health, and private practice organizations.
